Baadalon Ki Tarha

Rik Basu

Rik is a rising playback singer in Kolkata and Mumbai. He became household name during the 2014 season of Zee SaReGaMaPa, which he ended as the 1st Runner-up. He is lovingly called “The Rocker” by Hariharan and can rock the stage like no one else. During his Zee SaReGaMaPa days, he mesmerized the legend, Asha Bhonsle with “Tumi Kato Durey” and “Shono, Ei To Samay”- two evergreen compositions of R. D. Burman.

Rik is a very popular performer and remains busy with his concerts, composing work and recordings. He has given several memorable performances in the USA and Canada in 2015 and 2016. He has several music albums and singles to his credit, including the hit album, “Hok Na Katha” and YouTube singles, “Tomake Khunji”, “Tujhe Pyaar Pyaar Karta Hoon”. His “Wole Wole”, which won him the “Sing for Football” contest organized by Sony TV, commemorating the FIFA World Cup 2018 was played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Finals stadium- a proud moment indeed! His recent playback song, “Dil ki Gulak” from “Baarish 2” is widely popular.

Dr. Raktim Sen

A composer, lyricist, orchestral arranger,  pianist and singer – a playwright, drama director, animator and actor – a documentary film maker and music director – a poet and short story writer – a truly versatile artist, Raktim is comfortable in any and all of these roles.

Raktim was initiated into music by his mother who played the Esraj and the Sitar. He learnt the piano at Calcutta School of Music. Raktim was recently awarded by Atlanta Indo-American Film Festival the “Creative Services Award” for his documentary film “Be the Change … Life Mission of Dean Lawrence Edward Carter, Sr.” He is currently, the Theatrical Director of Atlanta Theater Workshop. Inc. and the Program Director of IACA Atlanta Indian Idol.

Raktim is an alumnus of Bengal Engineering College (now, Indian Institie of Engineering, Science & Technology), Shibpur. He has an M.S.and Ph.D. from Clemson University and recently retired from a  multinational company.

His previous album, “Hok Na Kotha“, with Anwesha Dutta and Rik Basu is widely popular.  “Badalon Ki Tarha” is his maiden Hindi composition.
